Kale Me Crazy

Save.

Foster.

Rehome.

Who We Are

  • We are committed to saving dogs from euthanasia and preventing owner surrenders. Due to a lack of shelter space around the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, NC), we partner with local rescues to save dogs who have less than 24 hours to live and see how we can make a difference in our local community by helping dog owners in financial crisis.

Our goal is to give the dog a nurturing foster family, while ultimately finding them a forever home.  We advocate for the dogs; and we get to know and screen potential families to make sure each and every rescue thrives in their forever home. A unique and comprehensive evaluation of potential forever homes also involves follow-up after rehoming to ensure both the dog and family are thriving.

Our team understands the powerful role dogs play in mental health and emotional well-being. We support the most vulnerable owners, including seniors, unemployed families, and compassionate individuals who take in strays but lack the resources to properly care for them.

  • Empathy, Love, Kindness.

These principals are central to our approach. We operate with consistency, care, and respect to create stable environments where both dogs and families can succeed.

  • It began when a fellow rescue volunteer reached out about a dog with only hours remaining before euthanasia at a rural county shelter. What started as a single act of coordination quickly evolved into a broader grassroots effort.

This moment was reinforced by the adoption of Kale Me Crazy founder, Talia Hall’s dog. Kale had been the longest resident dog at the rescue and was consistently overlooked because he is a black pitbull mix. Kale’s successful transition highlighted what is possible with the right placement and loving support.

Since our first placement in 2025, we have rehomed nearly a dozen dogs with carefully matched families. Every day, we continue to strive forward and make a difference, one dog at a time.
